It's All About Us: A Speculative Writing Workshop

Come by Duende District Bookstore in Artomatic at 4pm today for a special workshop on writing speculative fiction with the amazing Tara Campbell! We'll have her book, and so many others by wonderful authors of color, for sale.

Workshop Description: What lies in your future? How will climate change, genetic manipulation, or artificial intelligence affect you in the decades to come? Many people think science fiction is all about the science, but it's not--it's also about us, our families and our communities. Developments in science and technology affect people of all genders, races, and nationalities, so we should all have a voice in exploring the changes we'll face. Join us to start imagining--and writing--the world of the future!

Tara is an assistant fiction editor at Barrelhouse and her monthly column at the Washington Independent Review of Books, Text in the City, covers all things books and writing in the DC area. She appears at local reading series such as The Inner Loop and the lowercase, and was a panelist at Barrelhouse's Conversations and Connections conferences in 2015 and 2016.
